seen on Red State:

Via Instapundit, comes the latest slap in the face to Libertarians-for-Obama by the Obama administration. Slashdot:

“US government policy is that photos produced by federal employees as part of their job responsibilities are not subject to copyright in the US. But Kathy Gill writes that after originally putting official White House photos in the public domain, since January the Obama White House has been asserting that no one but ‘news organizations’ can use its Flickr photos taken by the official White House photographer, who is a US government employee…”

You mean, like this?

Original here. Relevant language on the Flickr account:

This official White House photograph is being made available only for publication by news organizations and/or for personal use printing by the subject(s) of the photograph. The photograph may not be manipulated in any way and may not be used in commercial or political materials, advertisements, emails, products, promotions that in any way suggests approval or endorsement of the President, the First Family, or the White House.

A shame whoever wrote that didn’t read this (linked to by the White House Flickr account itself).

That was quick.
Only 30% of voters would re-elect Barack Obama if the election were held today.
Vision Critical reported:

Fewer respondents believe that their president inspires hope and has made progress in bringing change to America.

As Barack Obama marks his first anniversary as president, only three-in-ten Americans are ready to grant him another term in office, a new Angus Reid Public Opinion poll has found.

In the online survey of a representative national sample of 1,003 American adults, 30 per cent of respondents think Obama deserves to be re-elected as president in 2012, while two-in-five (39%) disagree and one third (32%) are not sure.

The proportion of Democrats who think Obama deserves a new term as president stands at 57 per cent, while only 21 per cent of Independents would give Obama a new mandate at this point.

from Gateway Pundit:

Massachusetts State Sen. Scott Brown, R-Wrentham, celebrates in Boston, Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, after winning a special election held to fill the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by the death of Sen. Edward Kennedy. Brown defeated Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, a Democrat, and Joseph L. Kennedy, a Libertarian running as an independent and not related to the late Sen. Kennedy.

Conservative Scott Brown tops Barack Obama among independent voters in the latest presidential poll.
The Boston Herald reported, via Free Republic:

If Scott Brown has kept President Obama up at night, there could be more sleepless nights at the White House thanks to a new poll that ranks the senator-elect as presidential timber.

A Newsmax/Zogby poll shows the Massachusetts Republican within striking range of Obama in a hypothetical presidential matchup.

The poll shows the pair statistically deadlocked if the presidential election were held today.

The online news site, newsmax.com, reported that Obama leads Brown by 46.5 percent to 44.6 percent among the 4,163 respondents in a poll with a plus or minus 1.5 percent margin of error. Independent voters, who helped propel Obama into office in 2008, favor Brown 48.6 percent to 36 percent.
